It’s Elvira

What inspires Elvira most?

I’m a Russian immigrant that continues to work tirelessly in order to succeed and catch every bit of the “American Dream”.

I believe that a woman can have it all!!!

I’m a wife, mom, sister, daughter & a friend. I share the same concerns & daily struggles as any other female by trying to create a healthy balance between work and home.

What is the best advice you ever received?

Find something that you enjoy doing and then figure out a way to make money doing it. My Rabbi always says “Elvira, you don’t have a job, you’re on a mission”.

How do you keep your customers coming back?

I meet with clients every day to plan their special events and enjoy helping from beginning to end. To see the smiles on their faces the day of the event is priceless!

I’m willing to do what ever my clients want to do and bring their fantasies to life. I also enjoy working with charities to help them raise money for worthy causes. Recently we raised a lot of money for both American Cancer Research Fund, as well as for the Chrons and Colitis Foundation.

I believe in operating with pure intentions and highest integrity.

BIO
SPACE ODYSSEY USA was created by transforming an old dingy warehouse in 2005. From laser tag and bowling to the latest video games. SPACE ODYSSEY USA hosts some of the biggest and most outrageous celebrity events, birthday parties and bar/bat mitzvah celebrations. With her husband, Emmy award winning television producer Jim by her side, Elvira Grau turned her extensive career in marketing and public relations into an innovative concept and business that continues to grow even in these difficult times. Grau has faced many challenges in her life. She uses her strong sense of upbringing in helping families plan their milestones and keeping things on point and on budget!

A Russian/Jewish nine year old girl emigrating to US with her parents, grandparents and an older brother from the Ukraine, she mastered a new land and learned English while growing up in Sheepshead Bay section of Brooklyn. She went on to pursue a career in Advertising Sales, Marketing & PR. Grau handled Fortune 500 clients such Met Life, ATT and MCI. But Grau has found more excitement outside of the corporate world. Running her own company allows her to feed both her entrepreneurial side and her philanthropic side. Elvira Grau truly enjoys her work!!! She makes her client’s fantasies come alive and helps celebrate their milestones! Elvira and Jim Grau work and live in Bergen County, New Jersey with their four children and 2 family dogs.

1. Set The Mood Candlelight is always flattering, no matter what the situation. People feel more at ease in dim lighting. Besides, everyone looks better and younger in softer lightening.

2. Set The Music The right sound is equally important. It should match the theme. Romantic vs. upbeat. Sound volume needs to be loud enough to be heard but not loud enough for karaoke!

3. Set The Linens Not just another boring table linen... Be creative! Choose pretty colors, patterns and texture. Table toppers and overlays can be anything fun from shower curtains to blankets or even scarves!

4. Set The Decor An eye for decor: choose tall arrangements to draw the eyes and keep it seasonal with branches blooms, berries, or fall leaves. Fill up a clear glass vase in any shape with fruit in season. Don’t be afraid to use mother nature to bring the outdoors inside!

5. Set The Bar Make sure to stock your bar with all essentials to match the occasion. Beer or white/red wine, vodka, tequila, rum, gin, scotch, whiskey along with mixers for martinis, cosmos, margaritas, soft drinks, tonic water & club soda. Garnishes: lemons, limes, oranges, olives, & cherries. Don’t forget the ice!!!

6. Set The Scene Why not be the 1st to have a drink! Guests often take their cue from their host, so pour yourself a drink. If you’re relaxed, everyone else will be too!

7. Menu Snacks, nibbles, buffet, seated dinner, no matter what the occasion, whether it’s bite size hors d’oeuvres, a buffet or a sit down plated meal. Make sure you offer dietary choices to please all: fish, meat, poultry, vegetables & carbs (rice, potatoes or pasta). Salads are universal but stay away from nuts for allergies and always put the dressing on the side. I prefer bite sized appetizers for a cocktail party. Who can juggle drinks, mingle & still remain graceful?
